I am a luggage junkie.

I am a big fan of E-Bags Motherlode bags http://www.ebags.com/ebags/mother_lode_ ... N=20039564.

These puppies are awesome, durable and highly functional. Watch the little video. They also come in fun colors.

My second faves are the LL Bean rolling Duffles (all except the XL are airline size limit compatable).

I also love the Tumi bags because they are well made and classic but only get the ones that I can carry on because the airlines beat the bags up so bad.

Occasionally you can find Tumi stuff at TJ maxx at half the price of the retail outlets.

Give your daughter the hand-me-down red ones (Ohio State) as she will be the only one in Michigan to own a red bag, making it much easier to find at the airport. Let your Mother buy you and Pete new luggage. She'll never know!

Sorry for the delay....I was waiting for "you know who" to answer for me.

The answer: Not long enough.

PS: I saw Ruth doing her "time" picking up trash. The only thing missing was the Government Issued vest. Hope she learned her lesson.

My ten year old Travelpro Platinum is serving me well.

Hi Marcia,

We've been collecting pieces of DELSEY luggage and have been real happy with the quality. Hard shell, spinner wheels, combo &/or key locks. They can be pricey but have bought them on sale or found some at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for alot less $$$.

By the way...how's that lil' cutie Butkus??

Peace,
Kathy

The original Poster (Marcia) asked me a question unrelated to the luggage question (which by the way, I had already answered).

I await your apology.

Please accept my apology to you both; no evil was intended. I was only wondering if I might be interrupting a new direction the thread might be going...by giving a luggage answer. I certainly will attempt to avoid such touchy situations in the future.

Hi Marcia:

I know I'm way behind but I just read this post.....

We've had all sorts of brands and most only lasted two trips to STJ :? Those darn Ferry peeps really know how to beat the snot out of luggage. Anyway, I had a Kipling back pack and loved it. It's stood the test of time so two years ago I purchased Kipling luggage. I bought the set that are duffle bag shaped but they do offer the traditional style. It's awesome! After 4 trips to STJ the stuff still looks brand new. Not a rip or tear anyware.

I got mine in hot pink & white tiger print. Never a problem finding my bags

XOXO

Bug - Love the description of your bag!! Hot!!

I'm also a big fan of Kipling. I have two of their backpacks and they hold up super well.

I'll have to check out the luggage! Their stuff isn't cheap but it seems well made.
