Pia- I have the Keurig and love it.
You can get your own pod "maker" it is a small filter basket that fits into a plastic holder. Just put in your coffee, screw on the top, out it in the machine and hit the button.
I bet you can get the K cups there. I get mine from Coffee Giant, but there are a ton of companies. Even Bed Bath and Beyond sells them

Heaather, that's a great idea. If I can figure out how to do it, that's the best idea I've heard, as he is a workaholic, has no hobbies, but adores his family. Thanks! I'll get the girls involved, as they can figure out all the techi stuff I can't.

Thanks X and Wakey - I have another ?? - does Keurig sell the basket, does it just come with the machine anyway or do I have to find it at another source such as BB&B, and if I have to buy it, does it just come in one size for the "single cup" machines 
As I have not seen one of these coffee machines yet, it is hard to imagine what the "brew basket" looks like - I have a gold basket for my drip coffee pot but have seen those come in different sizes for different manufacturers (if that makes sense)

Pia, some packages come with this basket but most I have seen, it does not. (they'd prefer you buy their coffee of course)

What always works for my is something with wine. This year we got him one of those
wine gourmet gift baskets that you can get pretty much everywhere. All you have to do then is customize it to his preferences. My mum got a chocolate basket on her day, for example.

I would second Heather's idea. My husband is like many people--really doesn't want 'things.'
Back when I was in grad school, I used to take classes on Tuesdays/Thursdays. I was gone all day and those days became known as "Daddy days."
When our daughter turned 21 ( a big deal in Ireland, where my husband is from).. for Christmas, I made him an album of all photos of just the two of them... titled it "Daddy Days." When I saw his reaction, I was really happy I had thought to do it..
