One thing to consider about Arizona and New Mexico is how close you are to the Mexican border. I researched retiring to both places and there are some VERY HIGH crime rates (mostly stolen cars) due to the proximity of the border. Something to consider. :)

I'd probably be stay in the country, just because of the conveniences and family.

Sanibel would be nice. I wouldn't buy, I'd rent something for 6 mos (winter) and then come back up here for another 6 mos.

I moved once, I'll never move again.

I'd love to retire to Austin...especially right on Lake Travis, but that requires major bucks. I think hubby will be working until he's 75+, so we'll probably retire to Forest Lawn.
