I think if I were going and it were available, I would want to stay at Seabiscuit. That villa looks beautiful and gets rave reviews.

The only thing I didn't like about Seabiscuit was that the bbq grill was at the bottom of the stairs by the driveway and outdoor shower.
After talking to others that stayed there, I now realize that sometimes you have to think "outside the box"; They simply carried the grill up the stairs to the main deck for convenience.
I'm good looking, not smart...

We were there last October and so long as we aren't on island, you'll be free from storms. :D We've only been married 3 years and when we've tried to vacation 2 of those years around our anniversary, a hurricane has come to the location of our choice. We'll stay home on our anniversary from now on!

That being said, for the few days after Omar came through, the weather was beautiful. No crowds, the island felt more like we were at home as opposed to a vacation spot. I would love to travel during that time again! Good luck on your villa hunt.

You found that out about Steve too. He's good and gentle.
Another line for the resume...

You found that out about Steve too. He's good and gentle. Sox, I would not rent Fun & Contentment if it were $10. for the week. PM me. We are going during Halloween with a huge group. Can you make it then?
Halloween? I may have to pop out if things don't work with the homebrewer gang.

We love October too - warm water! March is cold!

Cheers, RickG

I'm starting to worry that I should've stuck with October after reading all of this.

I guess I just need to remember my motto: "It's hard to be pissed off in paradise."

I'm headed to STJ in late May. I've never gone this early in the summer before. I usually like to go in late June - early October. Is it a lot more crowded in late May? Is the water colder in late May?

Thanks to everyone for all of the great responses! You have helped to calm many of the fears we had about heading down in Oct...Of course, my mom will still think we're NUTS to be taking her grandchildren to the Caribbean in the middle of "H" season - but she'll get over it I'm sure! Been trying to get her to come along for years, to no avail.

Jim - love to share a beer with you anytime (well, not "share", that would be strange...we could each have our own...in honor of you, I think it would be "groovy")...

Thanks again everyone...Now I have to get some sleep, as I have a big day tomorrow that includes blowing out 32 birthday candles...sheesh.
