My brother texted me this morning from the (thankfully) quiet airport. His flight was to leave in a half hour.--so I am assuming that they got out just fine.

Thank God! The situation has gotten so little press, there was a two paragrah story buried on page 20 in yesterday's NYT!

That's great news...I'm sure you and your family are relieved. I'd like to also add that I am very proud to have fellow forumites as friends. The support for Loria (and others) has been amazing. You're all really awesome...

just got the word, they did indeed get out--my brother called my dad from the airport in Johannesburg before boarding his plane to Nairobi (you THINK he would have called when he LANDED in JoBurg--BUT NO--he waits...... :evil: ) he is totally getting his ass whupped when he returns.

thanks Linda--i am really happy, but i am going to kick his butt when he gets back! he landed in joburg at about 11:30 am our time!

So glad to hear he is out safely! Delaying the call sounds like something my brother would do also! What relief for your family to have him safe!
