Oh boy.....that might not go over well. No pun intended, just don't do it in the snow.

Great idea!

Nim's Island
Ok, so based on this suggestion I am clearly living with young kids, but it's actually a really fun movie with a bunch of great tropical (albeit pacific) island footage!

"10" with Bo Derek & Dudley Moore. Not the Caribbean, but a tropical setting.

That's one of our favorite things to do on a cold winter weekend.....build a fire make a nice soup and a loaf of crusty bread, open a nice bottle of wine and watch movies.

One of my favorites is not tropical but set in wine country in California. It's a little art house movie and hard to find but it looks like Blockbuster Online has it. The name is "Uncorked" with Nigel Hawthorn, Minnie Driver and Rufus Sewell.

The whole movie is a feast for the senses. It's beautifully filmed set on a lovely old vineyard estatee, the soundtrack is gorgeous classical guitar and the movie is great. Did I mention I really love this movie? It's especially poignant for someone who struggles with the passion of their heart conflicting with their desire to make a nice living.

No movie for us today. We're going up to NH to pick up a new baby....kitten! Woohoo!

Ok joshie pm me and we will trade for a week or two. You stay at my place I stay at yours. I even have the drive done :D You can go skiing it's just 10 minutes down the road. Fresh powder and more on the way. I hate the crap but it is pretty out my patio window.

You think we can smuggle some snow down there when we head down in May?

Seriously Josh. You want to see real snow in St. John? Go to one of the eateries and ask if you can shave some of the frost of the walls of a walk in freezer...

Another really good movie, and one of my all-time favorites is Shirley Valentine. Set in the Greek islands, it has beautiful scenery and water. It's kind of a chick flick, but my hubby likes it too. It's a British movie and sometimes hard to find (I bought it) but SO worth the search!

Adam Sandler! That reminds me of a REALLY fun movie! "50 First Dates"! Fun, fun movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, set in Hawaii.

My brother is islandchef and he's posted this a couple of times, but just in case you missed it. He made this the last week he was living on island when we came down to "help him pack". I watch it at least a few times a week when the next trip gets close.
