Thanks so much for the scoop....we will definitely make it a priority to head out there.

Jonah loves animals....I can only imagine what he will say when he sees a goat or a chicken wander right up to him.

Good to hear she doesnt usually run out. Like I said, power had been out all day (and most of day before).

It was really crowded also, and people were being pushy, which I am sure she was NOT loving. You could tell she was highly annoyed. If you are out of something, you are out of it. And she was out of just about everything and people just kept asking as if they asked one more time she would change her mind or something! Those darns newbies!

We will try again. It wasn't real fun sharing a piece of chicken with 8 people. And we got a tiny one, she said it was so small she couldn't charge us full price for it. So that and a couple of tarts, just made us more hungry!

More Vie's...

Closed Sundays and Mondays (occasionally she is closed other than those days especially off-season).

Beach access: $2.50 (per person, I believe).

We generally get there right after she opens. We are often the first customers of the day and find her just sitting at one of the tables under the tree, reading the newspaper.

The garlic chicken is "the thing" to get, but to be honest, I've always preferred the yummy curried beef with rice & beans, accompanied by a warm johnny cake drizzled with honey.

Shoot. Now I'm HUNGRY! :)

I guess my wife and I are the only ones that did not like Vies. She was a very nice person but the chicken was not warm enough and was not tasty. The conch fritters did not have enough conch and were not nearly as good as Woody's or Shipwreck. There were numerous gnats that tried to share our food and it was very difficult sitting there and eating.

You are not alone. We didn't care for the food, either. We would not drive all the way out there just for the food. We did like chilling on her beach, though.

We love Vie's and have been lucky enough to be the only people on her beach the three times we've been there. She did run out of tarts the day we were there, but we had the chicken and it was delicious. That day it was so hot I couldn't eat it for a bit. We have had great experiences snorkeling there too.
