Dear Flip-

It has been 3 yrs since we stayed in Vancouver for three nights at the end of an Alaska cruise-tour. It was mid-August and the weather was perfect. We stayed at the Sutton Place and it was very comfortable. We walked to restaurants near the hotel and had Greek and Chinese food, both very good.

One day we took the ferry (very scenic) over to Victoria and beautiful Buchart Gardens, and had a leisurely lunch on the harbor.

We were traveling with my sister(who has limited mobility) and my neice, so we took a Vancouver city bus-tour. Vancouver reminded both my husband and I of Sydney Australia, which is one of our favorite places, so we loved it.

We then picked up a rental van and drove down to Seattle for a few days and flew back from there.

I agree. Vancouver and Sydney have a lot in common. Each city, although similar, is beautiful in its own special way for different reasons: Sydney for their lovely harbour, Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge and Vancouver for its mix of ocean and mountains. I have to say that when I was in Sydney it didn't feel much different than being home in Vancouver.

Enjoy!

Me the hubby and kids were sitting on the sand at Trunk Bay today, reminiscing about Vancouver and how much we loved it.
