Great link, Wakey! I haven't seen those pix before. I would be SO UNCOMFORTABLE staying in a place that formal! Just not my style at all!

Bchbum82, I have heard rumors to the effect that it is the Monster.com guy, but also rumors of other people owning it as well. Hmmm.

It's not owned by the monster.com guy, it's not owned by Kenny, not by any CEO, just a regular guy with a great mind who made his own way. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Very unassuming, you could be sitting next to him and never know he owns the house. I can tell you I could never live there because you can't slam the kitchen drawers when you're pissed off........... they slide shut on their own........

I've seen those in high end kitchens..

When you have about 40 drawers in a kitchen that must really add up.

Yeah, I'm bored..

Hi Tom,

I believe it was determined that the owner of this property was/is the CEO of a company called Qualcomm. I think the monster.com thing got started because people were referring to the place as the "rock monster" house. Based entirely on its size and construction materials.

I am still slightly tempted to go to the gala at this place. I am bringing down a couple of simple dresses--but only flip flops/sandals. Some of them are "fancy" flip flops....maybe they'd pass muster? :D

Thanks for the link Wakey.....I can't believe the size of the master suite. It's just too big to be comfortable I would think. I believe cavernous is the word I'm looking for....Really! Drawers that shut themselves?!? Man, I live a sheltered life. Heheheheee!

liamsaunt: I could put on my best tye-dye and cut-offs!

Whoever owns this place must have done something right in his life...

We have been looking to buy a villa for a while, and this is just not going to cut it. Something is just not right about the paint color. Really quite tacky. Otherwise, we would be all over it.

While I am posting, does anyone know of a good villa in Coral bay in the $3000/week price range? We are looking for something this summer.

For what it's worth, the vegetation around "Monster" has really grown up and flourished in the last year. From the water, it does not look nearly as looming and giant as it once did. Gotta love $1000 palm trees, I guess.

Liamsaunt- I think you should go-- I hear the food is going to be great! ;)
