Thanks ,yet again, for all of your well wishes...
I'm a little ashamed by saying that after hearing Paul has been taken out of his induced coma, that I HAD TO try to remain upbeat, and shy away from talking about it...
It's kind of rough, actually...
I'm just trying to be/act normal, you know?
It's no picnic.
The update is as follows;
He still has an infection of which the doctors can find no origin.
He's been awake from time to time, and very uncomfortable. He's got a trachea in his throat...
He still has a fever that my Mom(and everyone) prays will stear clear of pneumonia.
I'm so sorry to vent on you folks, but I've got to get this out to somebody!!!...
On top of everything else, he's been diagnosed with bronchitis, and is scheduled for more reconstructive surgery Thursday for his legs.
There's something that I failed to tell you all in my "Forum Family", and I'm not sure why I'm telling you now.I guess I just wanted to keep something private as far as Pauls' life, on his proud behalf...?
Prior to my brothers' accident, he was diagnosed with Hemochromotosis. He's also a victim of cancer of the liver, pancreas, kidneys.
He's only 50 years old.
Strangely enough, we're all just hoping for him to return to his state that he was in before the accident, and that was already a lot to handle.
Please allow me, at this time, to once again give you all an interstate/international hug on our familys' behalf.
Your support has moved mountains. It's wonderful.
I'll be seeing him next Monday & Tuesday, and if he's lucid,God willing, I'm looking forward to reading him all of your best wishes.(Maybe I can print them all out, and enlarge them, or something,...)
He'd not only be happy to see/hear his little brother reading your posts from around the globe, but also he'll somehow get to know me better, as you all are a part of me.
Then surely he'll understand why I've been visiting STJ for the last 10 years.
I can't stop crying. I HATE IT.
People like you all make me unbelievably proud for sharing what beauty & love we've found with oneanother while we simply talk about such a wonderful& dreamy "Home away from home"...
We all come from different walks of life, and yet our unity is astounding.
I can't thank you enough, and wish you all
Smiles-
Jimmy

Thank you for the update, Jim. I understand how sometimes you need to remove yourself from here and talking about Paul, but PLEASE don't apologize for telling us what's on your mind (you call it "venting"). We all know what this thread is about and check in often because we care about you and your family, no matter what it is you have to say.

Sending beefed up wishes for recovery to Paul and for strength to those who love him.

Jimmy I was going to PM you again. I know it's hard to talk about this on the forum.
Right after your brother's accident my cousin had his motorcycle accident. He's recovering at home but his back is broken. We feel very fortunate.
Your brother is a fighter and I believe that God has brought him this far through his illness, he's not going to take him from you now.
Feel the love around you. It will see you and your family through this.
Prayers and love....Bev

Good lord, where have I been? My apologies, I seem to have missed your post until it was brought to my attention by cypressgirl. We can feel your emotions in your words; your pain as well as your love for your brother. I'm so, so sorry for all that you and your family are going through; it's just tragic. Just continue to take things one step at a time and remain positive. I, too, am sending lots of prayers from here in Connecticut for your brother's recovery. Ali~
