Re: Island Stones

We loved the house. Great views, very clean, AC in every room. Only issue we had was the water pressure was low sometimes. Other than that it was great. I'm sure they wouldn't be renting it if it wasn't in good shape.

We stayed there February 2017 but not sure how it looks after the storms. What would you like to know?

Re: Coral Bay Restaurants

Rhumb Lines, Aqua Bistro for finer dining, skinny legs for burgers and sandwiches. All will be open then. Pizza Bar in Paradise is on the road toward salt pond and has excellent pizza. Another option which may be open is Ms Lucy's. It's further down the road to salt pond. Great Grouper sandwiches am...

Re: New post storm villa pics

For some reason, the hill to the south of my house is much worse than most of the island. I think a tornado spun down the hill and uprooted most of the trees. The remaining trees are filling in nicely but it will take years to return to it's pre-storm jungle look.

This will be our first taste of Carnival. Where is the best place to sit and watch the parade? Where do people park? Thanks

Re: Wondering why no solar?

It is perfect until two Cat 5 hurricanes come along. First thing to go are the solar panels and I'm not 100% sure they are covered by home owners insurance. For us , it's on the list of things to do long term because we plan on moving there in 5ish years but that list is very long. When you own prop...

Re: Wondering why no solar?

There are many villas with solar. Some are totally off grid while others use it just for backups. It all comes down to cost. To do full off grid solar for my villa would cost around 40,000. WAPA stopped net metering a few years ago which doesn't help. We do plan on installing it at some point.

We went down it before the hurricanes and it had been paved most of the way down.

Re: Villa cancellation advice!! Help!!!

As a villa owner I agree. Use VRBO for research then find the one you want on facebook or their website. Contact the property manager directly and you'll get a better rate and service.
