MJ- Time for a new travel cooler

MJ, I bought 2 Polar Bear 24 pack coolers. Following instructions on both, and it worked perfectly. Had no issues at all. I've had maybe 50 coolers in my life...(beer and rugby) and just wish I bought these many years ago. By far, the BEST coolers I ever bought, and good value with the 2 for 1 sale ...

Re: Time for a new travel cooler

IMHO, there is no better cooler than the Polar Bear cooler. I learned about it from this forum a couple of years ago when I was planning our first visit to St. John. I put the cooler in my freezer, full of frozen meat. Took it out the morning we left, and brought it as carry-on. This was on Sat. a.m...

Re: One night, high season Cruz Bay??

My wife and I stayed at the Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel for 1 night, on our first night on island. Fantastic decision, and I will stay again! GREAT owners, hands on and super friendly! Includes breakfast too....

Re: Airport craziness: Sundays vs. Saturdays in May

Who needs a porter? Go carry-on! We did a 15 day trip with carry-on, and had NO PROBLEM! I even brought a Polar Bear Cooler filled with meat. Try carry-on...you don't have to worry about losing your luggage!

Re: A quick villa video review: The Castle

We stayed at Castle St. John in 11/2012. It was a tremendous value! The road up to the Castle needed 4WD, but we tried not using 4WD and we were abe to make it up the hill. If it was raining, it would need 4WD. It was very private, and you could work on a"full body" tan...if you wanted. Gr...

Re: New post on our building blog

It is even too cold for the hot tub outside! Hair freezes to your scalp! Subzero and wind are a bad combo. 85 in St. John seems very attractive right now!

Another vote for Steve Simonsen....we took his photography class while on island, and it was one of the highlights of our trip!

Re: Steve Simonsen Workshop's

My wife and I took Steve's class last Nov in the middle of our 2 week trip. I couldn't believe the difference in the quality of our pictures from week 1 vs week 2!!! This was the BEST side activity we did! I will do it again and he changed how I look through a lense. I bought a new camera after gett...

Re: Trying out a ticker - Yay! It worked!

We went to Cinnamon Bay in 11/2012, and thanks to this forum, I learned many things about what to do, where to go, how to stay at CB, etc. Take the time to search posts about Cinnamon Bay. For example, we arrived at CB after a 1 night stay at Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel, and didn't rent a car until thur...

Re: Who wants to take NPS to court and win!

All I know is if I saved my money to go back to STJ, and NPS (congress) closed the beaches and park, I would be pissed beyond repair. This much I will say: ZERO incumbents will receive a vote from me. Yup-ZERO. Pathetic "leaders".

Re: No see-ums @ Cinnamon bay campsites

We used Cottage 10, and we liked it alot. It was al the way on the end. We did not really look at the tent sites. THe cottage was $105 a night, off season. I think the in season rate is $155.
