Re: Trip insurance

We have used "insuremytrip.com" for years. They will provide quotes from multiple companies and they have a user friendly process to select options. Then you can click on 3 or 4 policies and they pop up on a page that clearly allows you to compare the primary details of each option you wan...

Air from STT to STX

We are coming to STJ for the 8 Tuff Mile race in February for several days. We are then heading to ST. Croix. We need to make flight arrangements from St. Thomas to St. Croix. Can anyone recommend one of the local airlines that they have had good luck using.

Thanks

Re: Airline Prices are $$$$$$$$

We live at the other end of Indiana and fly out of Louisville. I hadn't checked flight costs for a while, but WOW, they are through the roof. I even checked Chicago as I thought that may be close for you to use as a departure city and those prices are are sky high, at least on Delta. I think you are...

Re: On Island report

Another day of great pics! The kayaking looks great. Haven't tried that at STJ, will have to add it to the list.

Hoosier Daddy we're from the Louisville area, Sellersburg to be exact.

Hey fellow Hoosier!

Key those pics and reports coming. If we can't be there at least we can enjoy it through your pics.

Enjoy!

Re: What was your first impression of St. John?

Little Cheeze, Best thread on the forum for some time, thanks for kicking it off! 1986, we arrived mid-day. The old ferry dock was still in place and it was very quaint. You felt like you had come upon the most isolated place on earth. We stayed at Gallows Point and rented a jeep. The first time we ...

Re: Best Lunch in Coral Bay?

Little Cheeze is wise beyond her years. Shipwreck Landing is #1 in Coral Bay. I'd go with Miss Lucy's as #2 due to the location, and the Grouper Reuben is excellent! Fritters at Shipwreck are the best I've found on the Island.

Re: Long Trip Report October 11-20, 2016

Great trip report. Nice to see the activity on the web site picking up. Greatly appreciate you going into such detail on your trip. We've gotten boring in our old age and just tend to do villa gravity days each day and chill out. It's nice to read about all of the beaches and all you saw when snorke...

Re: Finally returning!

I checked Expedia and they show you can book Caneel Bay for 1 night in May. While we think the rooms are over priced, we've stayed there twice, the beaches are wonderful. For a 10th anniversary it may be worth the price just for the experience.

Re: Conch Fritters

Aqua Bistro got the silver medal in the Conch Fritter Olympics. I love Miss Lucy's Ruben Fish but their fritters can be a little over cooked my taste. If LiamsAunt recommends Cannel I'd give them a shot. From her posts she has a lot more credibility than I do when it comes to knowing good food from ...

Re: Conch Fritters

Conch Fritter Olympics. On a trip to STJ in 2011 or 12, we made a point of trying Conch Fritters at as many places as we could until we couldn't stand to see one more order of Fritters on that particular trip. We scored each place 1 -10 with 3 of us judging (my wife won't touch a conch fritter) she ...

Re: Trip Report 9.24 - 10.5

Great trip report. Glad you had a great time. We love the Coral Bay side but the Villa we had gotten used to renting, Casa Tua, went off the market, for a mere $2,000,000 it could have been ours! Ouch! So since that's never going to happen we're still looking for the next perfect villa to rent. Glad...

Well this thread has been pretty much anything other than "SAD"! The proof is in the pudding folks, obviously a whole bunch of us still spend a great amount of time thinking about the rock and do so by checking in on this forum. Thanks for kicking this thread off and getting so many people...
