Re: Seawing Villa?

Seawing is the very first villa my husband and I rented on our first trip to STJ now more than 25 years ago. It has a very special place in our hearts because that's where we fell in love with STJ. We returned the following year and then sent our daughter and son-in-law there for their honeymoon. Th...

Re: Water temperature early March versus early May

Water is definitely cooler in March compared to May but the biggest factor MHO is the crowds. There are more people in March so more people at the beaches. Just my 2 cents.

Wonderful, Pickle. I'd love to snorkel with you. You see the coolest things. You have a great eye for finding the smallest coolest stuff. Loved your report. Glad you enjoyed Summerwind and Sea Wing. They are great houses.

Re: Pic's Pics & Report: May & June 2016 - Vol.1

Sea Wing is the first (and 2nd) villa we ever stayed in on St. John. We loved that house but it's been private for many years. I'm happy to see that it's back on the market. It's perfect for just 2 people. We sent our daughter there for her honeymoon 20 years ago. Summerwind is also a house that we ...

I was so happy when I saw your trip report. Yours are always so fun to read and I always enjoy the great photos. I am so jealous  of the manta sighting. It's on my wish list but I'm glad your whole family could experience it together. You are the queen of trip reports in my book ! ! :D :D

Re: Villa for 4 in Coral Bay area

I would look at Heaven's Gate, Estate Fortsburg to start with. All have 4 equal suites with wonderful views. They all have a pool. Not sure about hot tubs.

Re: Thirteen more days in paradise, final

As always, a wonderful trip report and great pictures too. I enjoyed the 4 extra nights you were "forced" to spend on STT. I don't know that much about staying on STT so it's good to know what to expect we are ever "forced" to extend our stay and accommodations on STJ are not an ...

Re: Villa for 3-4 couples

Frances Bay Estate is a great house for a large group. Beautiful house and a great location walking distance to Frances Bay. On A Clear Day is another beautiful house above Frances Bay.

Since you have 4 couples, why not look at some houses in Peter Bay. I'd look at Rotunda. Love that house.

Re: President's "Week"???

I'm sorry to say that we have been down over President's Week twice and we will NEVER do it again. It wasn't so much the crowds and it was crowded but I don't believe we've ever been there when there we so many RUDE people! We pretty much stayed away from town and hung out in Coral Bay. Where do the...

In the listing it mentions A/C. Maybe they have added it in the bedrooms. It looks like a nice house though.

Re: Summer 2016 villa

I agree with you about Bay Rumb Breeze. It's our favorite house of all that we've stayed in and we've been coming for over 20 years. What we like is that it has it all but it's not over the top in terms of price and amenities. Some villas are so oppulent, I'm a little uncomfortable. I don't think yo...

Re: Summer 2016 villa

Hawaii, take a look at Casa YaYa in Coral Bay. http://www.vrbo.com/448241 It's 2 bedrooms and a sleeping loft. My daughter is renting it a week after we spend 10 days at Bay Rumb Breeze in June. It looks like a nice villa for the money. When are you planning on going?

Re: Favorite Villa w/kids trip

I highly recommend Bay Rum Breeze on Mamey Peak. The location is really great and the villa is our favorite. http://bayrumbreeze.com/ You can book directly through the owner there. She's great to work with. There's a great pool and hot tub. The house is well maintained and the view down-island is fa...
