Re: First trip to STX

Hi, We have traveled to STX many times and have a trip coming up in early December. I am happy to help anyone re STX. I check in on this forum from time to time but a PM will reach me faster. This is a wonderful forum for STT and STJ but, if you want to see a bit more action re STX, try Trip Advisor...

Re: Considering options

We're heading to STX in December for what I think will be our 14th trip to the island since 2007. Before that we were very STJ-centric - until the building boom on STJ sent us looking for more wide open and less "touristy" spaces and we finally tried STX. Crime is all throughout the USVI -...

Re: Other Islands

We used to be very St. John-centric but "discovered" St. Croix in 2007 and have been returning each year - at least 2 visits and sometimes 3 or 4. We stay in villas and I am a villa junkie. If you post a link to a villa on STJ that you like I will post some links to similar properties on S...

Re: Air fare

We were on hold watching for a March trip, too. Finally settled at $560. I think there are ways around it by getting on the puddle jumpers out of SJU or STT but I try to get the easiest connections possible ORD/MIA/STX as my hubs is not a very good flyer.

Re: Travel Keys - scam or real business?

Villas Caribe has become Travel Keys. Travel Keys has consolidated a number of other smaller agencies which could be how they got your e-mail address if you had previously contacted one of the entities consolidated. They also have some ads on vrbo and on Trip Advisor as do other bookings agents like...

Re: kiteboarding, villas/condos, snorkeling...first timer

Another vote for Bill at Kite St. Croix. He is the best. Have stayed at LaViridian twice and enjoyed watching the kiters on Coakley both times from the villa. Re: villas: The Pink House does not have much of a view and Coakley condos do not have a beach. Our favorite villa on island is Amonoka - exc...

We are at Spyglass Villa in December and then our favorite, Amonoka, in February. When are you going and where are you staying?

Re: Avis Car rental

Never tried Avis. We had a bad experience with Budget our very first trip and Centerline bailed us out so we prefer Centerline. I hear that Judi of Croix is also good. Both deliver just off the airport property so you avoid the airport tax you wuld have with Avis, Budget, Hertz. With Centerline you ...

Re: where to stay? First Timers.

I would suggest the east end with north shore views. Some very nice villas out that way with beautiful views and it's pretty much a straight shot into Christiansted. We use the management company Vacation St. Croix. We're heading back down in December and staying at Spyglass Villa this time. Was jus...

Hi,

I think you would have better luck on this forum -

http://www.vimovingcenter.com/talk/list.php?4

Lots of St. Croix residents post there and someone may know the people you are looking for.

Good luck!

I recently replaced our roll-a-boards with Lipault luggage. We got the Montmarte which is the 22" with spinner wheels. It's rugged and easy to clean and extremely lightweight. It does not have a hard frame so you can get a lot more into it. So far, so good, and I love the padded handles.

Hi, We try to get to STX 2-3 times each year. STJ used to be our favorite but now it's STX for the even more laid back atmosphere and the rgeat restaurants. We have a few favorite beaches on STX. On the far east end it's Smuggler's Cove; a bit east of C'Sted it's Shoys, and on the west end there are...

My husband did the trek years ago and found it to be very safe and fun. The divers showed the trekkers a lot of sea creatures. I was able to go down in the observatory and watch / photograph them through the windows. One thing - not sure if it is still the case. If you are doing the trek ask if the ...
