Wedding on St. John

My daughter got married on St. John last week. It was beautiful, rained about 3:00pm, stopped, wedding was at 5:00pm nice and dry. We used St. John Catering, fabulous service and delicious food. Susan from Passion Flower did a wonderful job with flowers, and being a go between for a rental van for g...

Re: The reason behind when you go to STJ

We are from Mn also and not sure we will be having a summer this year! We try to go 3 to 4 times a year. We own a house there, so we like to go often to check to see what needs to be done or replaced. Just mailed down a new hammock today. We usually go in summer, fall, winter and spring. We actually...

Re: airfare from MSP

Just bought tickets for end of July $609, on Delta. They are usually higher than US Air, when they go down I jump on it.

Re: No AC (specifically Ixora or Ajax Peak area) in the summ

Just to clarify for Laura T, Treetops is still on the rental market, with Private Homes for Private Vacations. It is indeed cool at night with the breezes, however it is located on Bordeaux not Ajax. We come to St. John 4 times a year and never used air conditioning at night. We have added it to the...

Re: Travel Questions--Airlines and Days

You can try searching Us Air multi city flights. If that doesn't work I ended up using Travelocity and those flights came up. Haven't used Travelocity before, but we had no trouble. Our flight out of Minneapolis was delayed a bit, as they had an ice storm in Charlotte and the flight coming to Mpls w...

Re: Travel Questions--Airlines and Days

We are on St. John now. This is my 50th trip, over the years we have taken Sun Country, (when they were available) Delta American or US Air. We did something different this trip that worked well. We took a 5:00 flight in the afternoon stayed overnight in Charlotte, were able to get on the earlier fl...

Herman was a gentle soul, with a quick sense of humor and loved the land. When we first met him he introduced himself as a botonist, and walked us around the area telling us all about the trees and flora. Herman lived below our villa, and was always a delight to talk with when we were on island. The...

We were on a Princess cruise 6 weeks ago to the Greek Islands. We brought several bottles of wine on at every port. There was a total of 8 adults, would have happy hour on connecting decks. Also as we had room service, the price of a bottle of alcohol was reasonable. Princess charges $15 if you brin...

We have done this a couple of times. Definitely only go with a full moon or close. Tried once without and got spooked. We go to Maho, bring only essentials. (Towels and snorkels, fins and lights.) We go just after sunset, so we can see where we are going. Snorkel out right side, it gets dark quickly...

Grooms dinner on St. Thomas

a friend called me and asked if I had any ideas for a Grooms dinner on St. Thomas. The wedding is in October and they are looking for a place for 50 to 60 people. Anyone have any good ideas? The wedding is at Frenchman's Reef with the reception, so they are looking for something different. Thanks fo...
