Oregon and NJ (talk about strange bedfellows) = only mainland states left with full service gas stations.
Let me clarify - you can't pump your own in NJ and Oregon - one price for full service all the time.

Good luck SJ. I’m probably toast in my pool with Pitt allowing that last second drive all the way into the paint - whatever happened to stop the ball or at least force it to the sideline? And Louisville killed me too – what was Pitino thinking playing a 2-3 zone against a team that can run a high po...

Re: St. John 2018 Still So Good!

Good stuff - keep it up. Always enjoy your contributions here. I too am bracing myself for what we will see on our favorite beaches on our trip coming in a month now. I know I know - still beautiful, yadda yadda - but (and maybe this is just my imagination) it seems like most videos and photos tend ...

Re: Beach Bar

I can only imagine. A house around the corner had a fire start in the garage from some heating/grow lamps, and it spread pretty significantly into the house - the volunteer FD really struggled to contain it. The house was unlivable after the fire and eventually the interior was gutted and re-built, ...

Re: Beach Bar

Recent photos made it look like an inactive construction site. Doubtful they will be re-opening any time soon unless things really pick up at a non-island pace...

Re: 2018 Roll Call

Booked last week of June. My wife pushed for it, saying STJ was there for us when we needed it to help us heal, so how can we not return that gift? Can't argue with that. Hope to help the recovery with our $$ and some volunteer work. The selfish part of me doesn't even want to see what places like o...

Re: STJ Trip Report Part 1: Ya gotta roll with it…

It was a LOOOONG day for me. In terms of what it started to feel like, the analogy of flying overnight to Europe is apt with that foggy physical and mental exhaustion. However, the first class experience did provide first hand proof that I have to make flying business/first class to Europe a bucket ...

Re: Pre-island into the Groove!!

That's is what really struck me about St. John after the first time and is what makes us (and I suspect many others) return - the buzz from pre-trip anticipation, the on-island buzz, and then the length of the post-trip buzz - helped by the planning and sharing that happened here long before the ris...

STJ Trip Report Part 1: Ya gotta roll with it…

Greetings all Started looking for a place to get away for some birthday shenanigans back in the fall because I was facing the big Six-O come April. We also had the opportunity to still include our daughter in our plans because her spring break was the same week before Easter. The irony about that is...

Re: Happy hour at High Tide?

Thanks Sue! Hard to believe she is twice as old compared to when we first went to the VIs in 2005. Haha we are still tied to the school calendar because she is a HS Chemistry teacher - lucky her Easter break lines up with my big six-oh birthday this year. No better place than St. John to spend it (n...

Happy hour at High Tide?

Looks like good drink deals - correct? What food options are available during happy hour? I only see a lunch and dinner menu. Thanks!

Re: 10 more days in paradise--the full report

In April, planning reserved dinner at Zozos, but beyond that, haven't made any plans or reservations. Did you guys make reservations for any of the other places you went to? We normally also make sure to get to Rhumblines for dinner, and to Sun Dog and Shipwreck for lunch - although that cracked con...

Nice! Some great rainbow and UW shots, and so many food shots LOL with fine use of ambient light -- you have pretty steady hands to shoot those low light shots...

Thanks for taking the time to post.
