For me carry-on only is the only way to go. I have had too many bad checked luggage experiences to even mention (one time my snowboard got caught between two conveyor belts and was burned until it represented a churro). Also, I just enjoy traveling as light as humanly possible. Four more days until ...

So, I went to the post office on Thursday. The nice lady there assured me that if I used overnight mail it would reach it's destination in 2-3 days. She said this is because the post office has no interest in giving you your money back, so they check the status of stations that the mail will travel ...

Sorry Xislandgirl! I was doing too many things at once while fretting about my dilemma and had only glanced at your pic. Sorry again. And I completely understand that you aren't trying to be discouraging. I welcome the information, I am just trying to get all the info I can and go from there. I woul...

JT you and I travel in a very similar manner. Such packing has never been a problem for me before but I have to say the liquids restriction has forced me to make other plans. Cypressgirl, I did the search you suggested. All of the people who had negative comments, including yours, were talking about...

I don't know why I didn't do this in the first place, but I called Connections and the wonderfully nice lady who answered the phone said that as long as you over night or "express mail" the package it will take only 3 or so days. She said that priority mail is a mixed bag, you are either a...

Anyone else have any experience with this? I don't doubt you Cypressgirl, my gut instinct is you're right, I only ask because I just did a search on USPS, and it says they will guarantee 2 day delivery if I have it in by 5:30pm this thurs.

damn......damn, damn! I wonder how much of my fin can be hanging out of my carry-on before they care? Hmmmmmmmm. I would say at least 3/4 of the heel cup will stick out of the zipper.

Shipping to Connections via USPS

Ok, so all along I have planned to ship my snorkel gear (for three people) and liquids ahead of me to Connections. I looked up approx. prices for UPS and FEDEX and needless to say they consider the USVI international shipping. USPS if I understand correctly does not consider the USVI (duh) internati...

Well, I'm sorry I guess I'm a terrible person because I do think that stories of Lindy and Luna are funny. I don't think that they situation that put them there is funny. And before you jump on your high horse I volunteer at homeless shelters and play sports with disabled children. People’s actions ...

I'm a HATER! I really cannot understand the appeal, however to each his own. They'll definitely end up on some "remember when" show.

I on the other hand do recommend Christopher taxi. He is very considerate, has always been on time, and is a safe and conscientious driver. Just my .02. Also, do you think the water taxi guy could have been a bit confused because you were 2 hours late? I mean it's not as if you spoke to him directly...

Dohms, and Christopher taxi are definitely worth it. Honestly, this is our 3rd trip to STJ the first year we got our own taxi and took the ferry. I have to say it was my least favorite part of the journey. Chris is very nice, I could careless if he is on the phone, he is always polite and a very att...

To all who think I need to lighten up, other people have made similar comments to Cypress girl, saying not to worry, I was jut trying to add my 2cents. And I furthered that with a tounge-in-cheek comment at the end of my post and included an emoticon for fun as well. I know I dont post as often as t...

Oh Cypressgirl! Taking a spear gun into the home of the shark is akin to armed home invasion. How many people on here have to tell you they won’t bother you? Have you looked up the shark attack statistics for the USVI, no? Well it’s pretty nonexistent. Most shark species are now endangered because o...
