This is a completly unique experience for those who don't need a mirror or constant primping. The Tents are not tents at all they were lovely hand carved artistic mahogany structures with heavy army canvas walls. Running water and a little propane stove too! Staying in the rainforest was soooooooooo peaceful and relaxing. And the caretakers are the BEST FOLKS you would ever want to meet. SO accomodating and helpful!!!! I cannot say enough good things about them :-) Don't miss the endangered turtles they are breeding there and if you lucky you will get the site where they keep them. The only down side was the difficulty getting a taxi comming and going. Especially one particuliar evening that I stayed down in Christianstead for dinner past dark. Getting a cab back was difficult. For some reason the locals are scared to drive up there after dark. Rent a car - there is nothing to be scared of. As anywhere in todays world you just need to be careful but other than that everything was perfect - And I'm a single gal that did this by myself. There were mostly families staying there an everyone was just so friendly and pleasant. The hiking in the area was really nice as well.
